End of Year Newsletter – Academic Year 2025/2026

As we come to the end of another fantastic academic year, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly busy, rewarding, and successful year for the Yardley Primary School PTA. This year has not only been about organising events but has also been a journey of collaboration, unity, and shared purpose that has enriched our school community in numerous ways.

This year has been about so much more than merely coordinating events. It has been a heartfelt effort focused on bringing our school community together, fostering relationships among families, creating lasting memories for our children, and investing in resources that will benefit pupils for years to come. Each initiative we undertook was designed to enhance the educational experience and to instill a sense of belonging and pride within our school.

Throughout the year, we organised a wide array of community events that were not only enjoyable but also instrumental in building a stronger sense of community. These included our much-anticipated Circus Show, the festive Winter Fair, a heartfelt Mother's Day event, our vibrant Culture Day, and of course, our biggest event of the year – the Summer Fair.

Each event served as a unique opportunity for families to come together, to engage with one another, to celebrate our diverse community, and to strengthen the bonds that make our school so special. Additionally, these events played a crucial role in raising valuable funds that directly support the educational resources and activities at our school.

One of the standout moments of the Summer Fair was the launch of our very first Young Entrepreneurs Market. This innovative initiative allowed our Year 6 pupils to step into the roles of entrepreneurs, showcasing their fantastic creativity, confidence, and business acumen as they ran their own stalls. It was truly inspiring to witness their enthusiasm and commitment. Meanwhile, other Year 6 children took on the challenge of managing the popular Lucky Dip and Hook-a-Duck stalls, successfully raising funds towards their Leavers' Prom. Their hard work and determination filled us with pride and showcased the incredible potential of our students.

Thanks to the incredible support of our families, dedicated staff, enthusiastic volunteers, and generous local businesses, the PTA has been able to make meaningful investments across the school this year. These contributions have been pivotal in enhancing the learning environment and ensuring that our pupils have access to the best resources possible.

Together we have funded:

• New toys and educational equipment for our Early Years children, which are essential for their development and play-based learning.

• New sports equipment to support our pupils when representing the school at sporting events, races, and competitions, fostering teamwork and physical fitness.

• Fans for every classroom to help create a more comfortable learning environment during the warmer months, ensuring that our students can focus on their studies without discomfort.

These improvements are only possible because of the continued generosity and unwavering support of our school community. Every raffle ticket purchased, every cake and dish donated, every hour volunteered, and every event attended has played a significant role in making a real difference to the educational experience of our children. The collective effort of our community is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.

This newsletter also marks a bittersweet moment as it signifies the end of my time as Chair of the PTA. After much thought and consideration, I have decided to step down from the role of Chair.

It has been an absolute privilege to serve our school community over the past couple of years, and I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together. I have met so many wonderful people, learned an enormous amount, and witnessed firsthand what can be accomplished when a community works together with a shared goal. The friendships and connections I have made during my tenure are invaluable, and I will cherish them.

Although I am stepping down as Chair, I am delighted to say that I will be remaining on the PTA as Secretary, so I'll still be very much involved in supporting the team and our future events. I look forward to continuing to contribute to our initiatives and working alongside our new leadership team to ensure the PTA remains a vibrant part of our school.

I am equally delighted to introduce our new leadership team. Dilan Hakverdioglu will be taking over as PTA Chair, supported by Amina Ahmed as Co-Chair. Both have been invaluable members of the committee throughout the year, demonstrating commitment and passion for our school community. I have no doubt that they will bring enthusiasm, dedication, and fresh ideas as they lead the PTA into the next academic year. I have every confidence that the PTA is in excellent hands, and I am excited to see the new initiatives and events they will introduce.

Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to every member of our PTA committee, our dedicated volunteers, the staff at Yardley Primary School, our supportive local businesses, and, most importantly, every family who has supported us throughout the year. None of what we have achieved would have been possible without your involvement and commitment. Your support has been the backbone of our success, and it is deeply appreciated.

We are already looking forward to another exciting year filled with events, fundraising, and a continued spirit of community. We hope to build on our successes and create even more opportunities for our children and families to engage and thrive.
