Welcome back

We are back and excited to welcome new parents into our community. This month, we are hosting our Annual General Meeting, and everyone is welcome to attend. It's a time to discuss our projects, priorities, and fundraising strategies, especially since we won't have a Summer Fair next year due to the school's expansion. For more details, please read the newsletters. Follow us on social media @yardleypta.

PTA Member

We invite our community to become members of the PTA to assist with the administration of our charity and event management. Your support is essential for maintaining our website, newsletters, and social media. Most tasks require only a few hours per week. If you're able to assist or are interested in supporting other initiatives, including fundraising or supporting forest school management, please email us at committee@yardleypta.co.uk.

We aim to keep the Forest School operational year-round, and to maintain the class fee at £8, we require volunteers. A DBS check is necessary, which the school will provide. Simply email us and pick up the DBS form at the office with your ID. More details below.

General Meeting

During our annual general meeting, we will present our financial status, provide an update on projects, and discuss how we can strengthen our fundraising efforts. It also provides an opportunity to identify areas requiring attention and discover ways to assist our teachers in delivering the best school experience for our children, while understanding the needs of our community.

Please join us on 26/09/2025 from 9:30 am

Location: School Hall

New to the School?

We would like to invite all new parents to a meet-up event after drop-off, where we can get to know each other and share more about the Yardley PTA.

Date & Time: 24th September 2025, from 9:00 to 9:30

Location: School Hall

Forest School

We are super proud of this partnership, and the feedback has been reassuring that we are on the right path. With the support of the PTA and volunteers, the Organic Lea, led by Orla O'Flanagan and Beth Taylor, offers a Forest School at Yardley at a discounted price for our students. This program is designed to provide children with enriching outdoor learning experiences, promoting a connection with nature through hands-on activities in the farm (kitchen garden) and Forest School.

Our Forest School can only run with the help of volunteers – parents, guardians, and grandparents are all welcome! We’ll take care of the DBS paperwork (just email us your name and phone number, and collect the form from the school office). Once your DBS is ready, you can join the sessions, enjoy the community spirit, and make a real difference to the children’s learning and well-being. Full training and support are provided.

Location: School Grounds (behind the main building)

Cost: £8 per session, paid monthly

Farm + Forest School Club (Y1 to Y4) – Tuesdays, 3:30–4:50 PM

Forest School (Reception, Y1 & Y2) – Wednesdays, 3:30–4:50 PM

Limited spaces – 20 children per session.

We have emailed all the parents on the waiting list and updated the September list based on the responses received. If you would like to put your child on the waiting list, please email us.

B&Q Volunteer Day

ree

We are excited to announce that B&Q has agreed to donate all the materials needed to repair certain items at the Early Years Playground, paint the Peacock Playground, and repaint the entire library. They are contributing £1,000+ worth of materials, and five volunteers will be joining us.

To make the most of this opportunity, we warmly invite handy individuals to participate in a day of painting! Although we initially planned this for 27.08, it was not possible. B&Q will soon announce new dates as they organize the available resources. Please let us know if you can help, and we will contact you with dates.

PTA Initiatives and How You Can Help!

Are you aware of the various initiatives the PTA is involved in? We understand that everyone has busy schedules, but the PTA is committed to finding every opportunity to raise funds for our school, and there are several ways you can contribute:

  • Participate in PTA events

  • Consider volunteering your time; we have ongoing positions available in the PTA. We are currently seeking someone to handle our social media and a stall coordinator for upcoming events.

  • Make a donation

  • Share our initiatives with friends and family

  4. Christmas Cards: This initiative allows students to create a special design that will later on be applied to Christmas card, magnet, notebook etc. Our school will get a donation from the sales.

  5. Events: Various events organised throughout the year to engage the community and raise funds for school activities and resources.
